Violeté Kitchen is a new European-inspired neighbourhood bistro opening at 1380 Commercial Drive in the former Famoso space, with an early April 2026 target. The project comes from Reuben Major and the Van Urban Hospitality team behind Havana, The Flamingo Room, Vancouver Urban Winery, and Belgard Kitchen. The menu is built around Spanish and Italian cooking, with shared plates, pizza, fresh pasta, and broader Mediterranean influences shaped by years of travel through Europe.
Violeté is designed to feel warm, social, and built for lingering. The restaurant spans about 2,700 square feetwith 78 indoor seats and 16 patio seats, and interiors by Lemon Lane Interiors featuring rounded archways, Roman clay finishes, greenery, and Tuscan-style tile. The energy sounds very much like an all-day Drive restaurant where lunch turns into wine and dinner.
Expect Violeté to be open Monday to Thursday 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday to 11 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
