Mates on Crates Halifax Feat. Richard stonehouse
G’day,
Those in the know, know where to go.
We’re excited to have just launched our latest episode of Mates on Crates, featuring Richard Stonehouse, Guest Services Manager at Mystic on the Halifax waterfront in Nova Scotia. Since opening, Mystic has quickly established itself as one of Canada’s premier dining destinations, earning recognition including Air Canada’s Best New Restaurant in Canada. Built around Nova Scotian ingredients, foraged products, and elevated East Coast hospitality, Mystic offers a deeply immersive tasting menu experience in one of the country’s most stunning dining rooms. Richard previously spent time in Vancouver as the General Manager at L’Abattoir before packing up and driving across Canada with his partner and two dogs in search of a new chapter on the East Coast. Now based in Halifax, Richard oversees guest experience at Mystic while helping guide both the restaurant and bar programs to the highest standard. Known for his warm hospitality style, deep restaurant knowledge, and love for classic pubs, seafood, and sparkling wine, Richard brings a grounded but detail-oriented approach to service.
Each time we do a Mates on Crates interview, our guests share up to twenty of their favourites with us. For each episode, only a handful of those favourites make it into the final two minute cut. In order to highlight all of our guest’s favourites, we are happy to share the full list of favourites right here.
