Mates on Crates: feat. Jesse Jonathon Hawes
G'day
Those in the know, know where to go.
Today we released our latest episode of Mates on Crates featuring my mate, Jesse Jonathon Hawes, co-owner and creative director at Mon Pitou Bakery. Mon Pitou opened during Covid and has thrived against expectations. Today a neighborhood favourite, it was designed to be a place that Jesse and his partner, Triet, would want to spend time and mixes elements of a cafe, grocer and bistro. The cafe got it’s name from the term of endearment a young Jesse received from his loving grandmother - literally translating to “my pooch” in Quebecois French. Additionally, the cafe is part of the Jonathon Hawes lifestyle brand. Everything you can experience in the store, from the clothes the staff wear, to recipes, playlists and more, is available for purchase online. It was a pleasure chatting with Jesse and hearing all about his favourites—check out the episode below.
Each time we do a Mates on Crates interview, our guests share up to twenty of their favourites with us. For each episode, only a handful of those favourites make it into the final 60-second cut. In order to highlight all of our guest’s favourites, we are happy to share the full list of favourites right here.
