A Quiet Love Letter to Pasta: Angela Pastificio Opens on Powell Street

ANGELA PASTIFICIO

Neighborhood: Grandview-Woodland
Address: 1869 Powell Street

Angela Pastificio is a pasta bar unlike any other in Vancouver—an intimate, 20-seat space where guests are served directly by chef-owner Calvin Vogstad. Inspired by his time at local institutions like Savio Volpe, La Quercia and Pizzeria Farina, Vogstad has created a singular dining experience built around a seven-course rotating menu that celebrates traditional handmade pasta, technique-driven dishes, and quiet hospitality. It’s a place for those who love pasta deeply—not just for what it is, but for the care and intention behind it.

Opened earlier this month, Angela Pastificio invites diners to slow down, savour, and connect with the craft behind each plate. The minimal, quietly elegant setting lets the food and conversation shine. Open Wednesday through Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., this reservation-only experience offers a rare chance to engage directly with the chef and the artistry of Italian cooking.
