Mates on Crates Feat. Tannis Ling
G’day,
Those in the know, know where to go.
We’re excited to have just launched our latest episode of Mates on Crates, featuring Tannis Ling, Owner of Bao Bei and Co-Owner of Kissa Tanto and Meo. Bao Bei is a true Chinatown institution, known for its cozy, rambunctious energy, a menu built for sharing, and the kind of consistency that turns first dates into fifteenth anniversaries. With a cocktail program that always hits and a dining room that somehow always has industry folks tucked into a booth, it is the sort of place you bring friends when you want them to understand Vancouver hospitality in one sitting. It was a pleasure to sit down with Tannis to chat about building a restaurant that lasts, the evolution of Bao Bei’s cuisine, and all of Tannis’s favourite spots.
Each time we do a Mates on Crates interview, our guests share up to twenty of their favourites with us. For each episode, only a handful of those favourites make it into the final two minute cut. In order to highlight all of our guest’s favourites, we are happy to share the full list of favourites right here.
