Mates on Crates Feat. Kyle Smith
G’day,
Those in the know, know where to go.
We’re excited to have just launched our latest episode of Mates on Crates, featuring Kyle Smith, Sales and Marketing Manager at Forecast Coffee in Vancouver, BC. Born in the mountains of Whistler in 2020, Forecast has grown into a specialty coffee and hospitality brand with cafés across British Columbia and a growing wholesale program. Its newest North Vancouver location brings the company’s roasting, bakery, test kitchen, offices, and café together under one roof. Tucked away in a laneway off Esplanade with a distinctly Melbourne feel, guests can expect specialty coffee, freshly baked cookies, an evolving food menu, and a team passionate about creating welcoming hospitality experiences. Kyle has helped shape Forecast’s sales, marketing, merchandise, and brand partnerships as the company continues to expand. With a team that draws on experience from established coffee businesses in Canada and Australia, Forecast puts an emphasis on quality, creativity, and developing people who are passionate about hospitality.
It was a pleasure to sit down with Kyle to chat about Forecast’s in-house roasting program, its plans for new locations, collaborations, menu development, the community behind the brand, as well as all of Kyle’s favourite spots.
Each time we do a Mates on Crates interview, our guests share up to twenty of their favourites with us. For each episode, only a handful of those favourites make it into the final two minute cut.
