Mates on Crates Feat. Joe Chaput
G’day,
Those in the know, know where to go.
We’re excited to have just launched our latest episode of Mates on Crates, featuring Joe Chaput, Co-Owner at Les Amis du Fromage in Vancouver, BC. A family-owned specialty cheese shop with two Vancouver locations, Les Amis du Fromage has been part of the city’s food scene for more than 30 years, offering hundreds of cheeses alongside charcuterie, preserves, pantry items, house-made pâtés, cheese platters, frozen soups, prepared meals, fondue, raclette, picnic essentials, and just about everything else you need to build a dangerously good board. Joe is a Red Seal certified chef whose culinary journey includes stops at Earl’s, Santa Fe Cafe, the Mark James Group, Yaletown Brewing Company, and Diva at the Met before helping carry Les Amis du Fromage into its current era as one of Vancouver’s most beloved cheese institutions. It was a pleasure to sit down with Joe to chat cheese, family business, fondue, raclette, local suppliers, grilled cheese, picnic baskets, and all of Joe’s favourite spots.
Each time we do a Mates on Crates interview, our guests share up to twenty of their favourites with us. For each episode, only a handful of those favourites make it into the final two minute cut. In order to highlight all of our guest’s favourites, we are happy to share the full list of favourites right here.
