Mates on Crates Feat. Harman Basutta
G’day,
Those in the know, know where to go.
We’re excited to have just launched our latest episode of Mates on Crates, featuring Harman Basutta, Co-Owner and Director of Business Development at Tasty Indian Bistro in Yaletown, Vancouver, BC. Rooted in a family hospitality legacy that began with Tasty Sweets and Restaurant in 1999 and evolved into Tasty Indian Bistro in 2011, the brand has grown into a beloved destination for refined Indian dining that still feels warm, casual, and welcoming. Guests can expect modern hospitality, a strong cocktail and chai program, and a menu designed to make Indian food feel approachable for everybody. Harman is part of the family behind the business and has helped guide its growth as the company expanded from Delta to Yaletown and Abbotsford, with Brentwood on the horizon. His superpower is building the business in a way that honours his family’s legacy while continuing to make the brand feel current, comfortable, and community-driven. It was a pleasure to sit down with Harman to chat family legacy, the misconceptions around Indian cuisine, vegetarian-friendly dining, brunch, cocktails, chai, and all of Harman’s favourite spots.
Each time we do a Mates on Crates interview, our guests share up to twenty of their favourites with us. For each episode, only a handful of those favourites make it into the final two minute cut. In order to highlight all of our guest’s favourites, we are happy to share the full list of favourites right here.
