Mates on Crates Feat. Andrew Doyle

G’day,

Those in the know, know where to go.

We’re excited to have just launched our latest episode of Mates on Crates, featuring Andrew Doyle, owner at La Cerveceria Astilleros, North Vancouver. La Cerveceria Astilleros has become one of the North Shore’s most distinctive brewery experiences, bringing a little slice of Mexico to Lower Lonsdale through Mexican-inspired craft beer, a lively street food program, and one of the most recognizable visual identities in the area. Guests can expect fresh beer straight from the tanks, house favourites like the Salted Lime Lager and grapefruit paloma, juicy tacos, plenty of energy, and a room full of hand-painted tile details that give the space its signature feel.

Andrew is the founder and driving force behind the concept, with a background shaped by years spent in Mexico and Chile, a degree in Hispanic studies, a master’s in wine business from Adelaide, and formative experience in the beverage industry before launching Astilleros in 2020. It was a pleasure to sit down with Andrew to chat his journey through Latin America, wine, beer, branding, opening during COVID, the growth of Astilleros, and all of Andrew’s favourite spots.

Each time we do a Mates on Crates interview, our guests share up to twenty of their favourites with us. For each episode, only a handful of those favourites make it into the final two minute cut. In order to highlight all of our guest’s favourites, we are happy to share the full list of favourites right here.
