We’re excited to have just launched our latest episode of Mates on Crates, featuring Alejandro Díaz, Owner at El Santo in New Westminster. El Santo is a contemporary Mexican restaurant that has been part of the New West community since 2015, known for house-made tortillas, thoughtful hospitality, a zero-waste kitchen, and a deep commitment to fundraising and community support. Alejandro brings the warmth of a true owner-operator to the room, building a restaurant that feels personal, generous, and rooted in the people around it. It was a pleasure to sit down with Alejandro to chat El Santo’s story, New Westminster, Mexican wrestling, community, cocktails, house-made tortillas, and all of Alejandro’s favourite spots.
