Mates on Crates Feat. Quynh Anh Pham
G’day,
Those in the know, know where to go.
We’re excited to have just launched our latest episode of Mates on Crates, featuring Quynh Anh Pham, Chef-Owner at Ông Bà Vietnamese Eatery in Coquitlam. Inspired by the sacrifices and generosity of her parents and grandparents, Ông Bà brings traditional Vietnamese flavours together with a modern approach, creating a welcoming space that celebrates family, culture, and the joy of sharing a meal. After spending ten years at the restaurant’s original 16-seat West End location, Quynh and her husband have created a much larger gathering place, with seating for 200 and a private dining room for celebrations. Drawing on her Northern Vietnamese roots, her grandfather’s cooking lessons, and her family’s love of hospitality, Quynh brings a personal touch to a menu that goes beyond the familiar staples of Vietnamese cuisine.
It was a pleasure to sit down with Quynh to chat about her culinary journey, the inspiration behind Ông Bà, the flavours of northern Vietnam, and all of Quynh’s favourite spots.
Each time we do a Mates on Crates interview, our guests share up to twenty of their favourites with us. For each episode, only a handful of those favourites make it into the final two minute cut. In order to highlight all of our guest’s favourites, we are happy to share the full list of favourites right here.
