We’re excited to have just launched our latest episode of Mates on Crates, featuring Owen Coomer, Co-Owner at The Barn Country Bar in Guildford, BC. The Barn opened in February 2025, bringing a full-scale country bar experience back to the Fraser Valley with live bands, DJs, line dancing, a huge dance floor, a covered and heated patio, barbecue, games, and no cover. Owen is one of three partners behind the venue, helping shape a 10,000 square foot destination built around country music, value, hospitality, and a full night out under one roof. It was a pleasure to sit down with Owen to chat about opening a country bar in Guildford, the rise of country music, the old Mirage space, live entertainment, barbecue, car shows, the Cloverdale Rodeo, and all of Owen’s favourite spots.
