We’re excited to have just launched our latest episode of Mates on Crates, featuring Jess Emin, food stylist, photographer, blogger and recipe creator behind @eatwithjessie. Based in Halifax, Jess has built a deeply delicious corner of the internet through her food photography, styling, writing and recipe development, including her work with Andy’s East Coast Kitchen. Her videos bring together smart home cooking, East Coast personality and the kind of recipes that make you want to stop scrolling and start cooking.
Jess started in restaurants and bars, worked front of house, studied journalism and wine, wrote an early food column called Eat with Jess, and has since turned that mix of writing, photography, styling and recipe development into a fast-growing food media career. It was a pleasure to sit down with Jess to chat about her love of restaurants, her rise through recipe videos, Halifax’s independent food scene, why food styling matters, how one dumpling pasta video went seriously viral, and all of Jessica’s favourite spots.
